Devotional gospel Luke 14:1-6
Ordinary Ordinary Day Week XXI
On one Sabbath when Jesus went to the house of a leader of the Pharisees to eat there. All those present watched him intently. A man suffering from dropsy stood before him. Then Jesus said to the scribes and the Pharisees, "Is it allowed to heal on the Sabbath or not?" They were silent. Then he held the hands of the sick, and healed him and sent him away. Then He said to them, "Who among you not immediately pull out his son or an ox that fell into a well on the Sabbath?" They could not refute him.
REFLECTION:
Jesus healed on the Sabbath |
The appearance of Jesus was able to give a striking impression in the eyes of his contemporaries. People who cling to the customs and laws ancestors offended by the attitude of Jesus. However, Jesus did not feel compelled to heed their customs let alone acknowledge their treatment of small ones and tersisih.Yesus has a heart for such people.
It is pointed out by treating innocent people being branded a banquet. Jesus did not feel the need to get rid of such people, even give healing to those who dropsy. The sick and the weak secure a place in the heart of Jesus. So how this is also reflected in our association as a Christian?
Healing is a priority for the work of Jesus. He was the Savior. Certainly not the physical healing of his concern, but mainly to save people who suffer. Look at the suffering transformed into road rescue him. The disciples today would need to consider this Jesus healing force. How, is it possible we do?
Prayer:
“Ya Bapa surgawi, perkenankanlah aku menjadi seorang saksi dari rahmat penyembuhan-Mu. Ajarlah aku untuk sabar dalam penderitaanku dan berilah aku keinginan untuk selalu terbuka bagi kuat-kuasa dan hasrat-Mu untuk membuat sesamaku memperoleh daya penyembuhan-Mu. Jadikanlah hatiku seperti hati Yesus Kristus, Putera-Mu terkasih. Amin.”
